THE ALBEDO STORY

BORN FROM A REFLECTION

A Childhood Fascination.
My obsession with watches started early, but the true "spark" arrived in my late teens. Like most young enthusiasts, I was searching for a timepiece that balanced affordability with a real horological soul. I eventually settled on a rose gold Orient Bambino with Roman Numerals, a watch I still love and own to this day.

However, as the years passed, that watch showed me its limits. The domed acrylic crystal became a roadmap of scratches, and the "genuine leather" strap, a term I soon realized was used to mask lower-grade materials, cracked and wore out far too quickly. It was a beautiful design, but it simply wasn't built to survive the journey of a lifetime.

The Catalyst.
That experience was the turning point for me. I realized that "affordable" shouldn't have to mean "disposable." When I founded Albedo, I insisted on Sapphire crystal to end the era of scratched glass, and I made our straps a core obsession. I chose to bypass the standard industry shortcuts, sourcing only Full-Grain leather, hand-crafted in Italy, and high-performance microfiber.

I don’t just want my watches to look good on day one; I want the materials to age with character and endure for decades. For me, it’s about creating something that lasts.

Our Journey

The Vision

Albedo was founded in Horst, The Netherlands, to address the common flaws found in affordable watches. The goal was simple: create a timepiece featuring the Roman numerals I’ve always loved, but engineered to a higher standard. By making Sapphire glass and premium finishing our baseline rather than an optional upgrade, we set a new benchmark for value. My brother, Sarkis, and best friend, Qais, soon joined the mission to help turn this promise into a reality. Together, we spent our first year refining the designs for the 1901, ensuring every Albedo timepiece lives up to its name by revealing true beauty through the play of light."

The Heart

In 2023, we defined the soul of Albedo. We chose the legendary ST-1901 mechanical chronograph for its tactile heritage, but we refused to settle for the standard version. Instead, we insisted on an upgraded Golden Swan-Neck regulator for enhanced precision—a high-end detail rarely seen in this category. We spent the remainder of the year on the ground, securing artisan partners and perfecting a transparent supply chain to ensure our quality would never be compromised by scale.

Testing & Refinement

In 2024, the Albedo 1901 moved from blueprint to reality. We spent months putting our samples through rigorous daily wear and constant timegrapher testing to ensure the movement exceeded our standards for accuracy and durability. Once satisfied with the performance, we finalized the experience: designing premium packaging and partnering with Italian artisans for our hand-crafted, full-grain leather straps. Every detail was finally in place to launch a watch that I would be proud to wear myself.

ALBEDO SOLARIS

Solaris — Our Ultimate Daily

After the 1901, we set out to build something different: a more sporty, industrial take on the Albedo chronograph. We wanted a timepiece that kept our signature attention to detail but traded vintage elegance for a solid, full-steel build designed to be worn without hesitation.

The answer was Solaris.

Forged from surgical-grade 316L stainless steel, we built it to be a heavy-duty tool first. We obsessed over the architectural depth, pairing a high-depth sunburst dial with concentric azurage graining on the subdials. Every index is precision-applied to ensure the dial has a sharp, three-dimensional look that catches the light without sacrificing legibility.

Under the hood, we chose the Japanese VK63 Meca-Quartz movement for its reliability and shock resistance, giving you a mechanical feel sweep in a package that can handle real-world impact. We didn't cut corners on the glass every Solaris comes standard with scratch-resistant Sapphire crystal and a multi-layer AR coating to kill glare in direct sunlight.

From the 1901’s vintage roots to the Solaris’s modern industrial design, our mission remains the same: Honest Horology. No compromises on the steel, the glass, or the grit.
